Young Jazz Artist Competition
Description: In recent years, The Trinity Jazz Festival has featured performances by a number of the prominent Middle and High School Jazz Ensembles in the Greater Houston Area. In an effort to expose and discover a broader base of young people who are studying and performing jazz, the Festival hosts a solo competition. Two performers will be chosen from either Middle School or High School. The competition is open to all instrumentalists and vocal musicians between 12-19 years of age. The winning performers will appear with a house rhythm section the night of the festival as the opening act of Trinity Jazz Festival.
All applications must be submitted by mail and should be accompanied by a ten dollar ($10) non-refundable processing fee. All applications must be received by December 31, 2014.
